Business Code Required Testing

GreenWorks Systems LLC provides thorough testing services to ensure that businesses comply with code standards and meet all regulatory requirements.

HVAC businesses and home builders are mandated to undergo testing processes in order to ensure compliance with industry-specific standards and regulations. Meeting these requirements is essential to guarantee the safety, efficiency, and quality of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems installed in residential and commercial properties.

A comprehensive assessment includes:

  • This tests the air infiltration of the building as a whole. We use a blower door to verify the rate of leakage is within code mandated standards. This test is performed as the last step before final inspection. The acceptable air leakage rate should not surpass five or three air changes per hour, which is determined by the specific climate zone. The testing procedures adhere to RESNET/ICC 380, ASTM E779, or ASTM E1827 standards, and upon completion, a signed written report is issued for review.

  • This tests the air tightness of the ductwork. We use a duct blaster to verify the rate of leakage within the duct system is within code mandated standards. Ducts are pressure tested in order to assess and identify any potential air leakage issues that may be present within the system. This testing procedure is crucial for ensuring the overall efficiency and performance of the ductwork, helping to maintain optimal air quality and energy efficiency within the space. Two types of tests may be performed:

    1. A Rough-in test encompasses evaluating the entire system, which involves examining the manufacturer's air handler enclosure if it has been installed before the test.

    2. A post-construction test is conducted throughout the entire system, which encompasses various components such as the manufacturer's air handler enclosure.

This comprehensive examination ensures that all elements are thoroughly checked and validated for optimum performance and compliance.
